To deepen students' understanding of the rich and profound Chinese culture, the Chinese Language Department provides an immersive learning environment. In class, students study ancient poetry and read classic Chinese literature. We also organize a wide array of cultural activities.
A major highlight is the Chinese Culture Day, featuring booth games and performances at our "Campus Heritage Village." During this event, our school transforms into an ancient marketplace. Students don traditional Hanfu and stroll through the campus, experiencing traditional folk games and crafts such as Touhu (pitch-pot), archery, dough figurine making, and scented sachets. They also learn about remarkable cultural heritage like traditional Chinese papermaking, movable-type printing, Kung Fu, and sugar painting.
Furthermore, by celebrating traditional festivals such as the Lunar New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival, teachers and students are immersed in a strong festive atmosphere. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural significance behind these festivals and helps cultivate a sense of cultural identity. Through these diverse learning activities, we aim to nurture children who possess a genuine love and appreciation for Chinese culture.

Teachers guide students in studying the classic Chinese literary masterpiece, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and encourage them to try their hand at scriptwriting during lessons. Beyond the classroom, we collaborated with a local theatre group, "Bone Drama", to adapt the famous chapter "Borrowing Arrows with Thatched Boats" into an interactive theatre performance. By reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms and participating in the drama performance, our Primary 6 students have not only gained a more profound understanding of classic Chinese literature but also developed a stronger interest in reading these masterpieces.
